Mark Wolffe

Faculty liaison manager for Architectural Sciences at Eindhoven University of Technology, is responsible for developing and maintaining a good library collection, both in electronic form and in print.

Library budgets are nowadays under extreme pressure. Mark therefore sees the Open Access movement "as a very attractive way of reducing those [collection development] costs while maintaining an adequate distribution of academic and scholarly information."

In the light of tight budgets Mark also underlines the role university libraries have in exploring alternative ways of publishing. According to Mark Wolffe a university repository is "one of the ways of distributing academic publications at lower costs than the current conventional means. So, it's in the interest of university libraries to manage university repositories..."
