The DIAMAS Project announced the publication of the new International DIAMAS Diamond Open Access Recommendations and Guidelines for Institutions, Funders, Sponsors, Donors, and Policymakers. This document offers a flexible, strategic framework designed to support the long-term sustainability of Diamond Open Access publishing.
These Recommendations and Guidelines are the result of two years of research, analysis, and community consultation. They are tailored to address the diverse roles and needs of key stakeholders and provide actionable guidance for supporting scholar-led, non-commercial, fee-free publishing.
The report emphasizes the collective responsibility of the entire scholarly communication ecosystem and highlights the importance of collaboration to strengthen and sustain Diamond OA. It outlines several strategic pathways that stakeholders can follow, depending on their context and capacity.
This framework is intentionally flexible, allowing organizations to adapt the recommendations to their own goals, resources, and operational environments.
