Shaping the future of open access publishing in the Netherlands: call for researchers’ input
Are you a researcher in the Netherlands or affiliated with a Dutch research institution?
We invite you to help build a fairer, more robust and sustainable publishing future in the Netherlands by giving your input to the new national open access strategy!
Whether you’ve been publishing your academic work for years or are preparing your very first paper, you’ve likely encountered one or more of the growing challenges in academic publishing: rising costs, limited academic control, inequitable models, and outdated systems of recognition and reward. These issues aren’t just inconveniences — they are barriers to the sustainability of and access to academic research.
The Association of Universities in the Netherlands (UNL) is therefore working on a new national Open Access strategy— and we are gathering input about the publishing concerns, needs and preferences of the research community of the Netherlands.
Please take out 10-15 minutes to fill out this anonymous survey and help build a system that actually works for you as a researcher: Fill in the survey here.
The survey will be open until 31-12-2025. We also encourage you to share it widely with fellow researchers across disciplines and institutions. The broader the input, the stronger the strategy.
